Last Days of Summer

Dust off those neckerchiefs and lace up your boots, summer break is winding down, and a brand-new year of Scouting is right around the corner! We’ve got some exciting updates and new changes coming down the pipeline this year, so keep a close eye on Scoutbook for all the latest calendar additions. Don’t forget, summer isn’t over yet! There’s still time for your scouts to dive into a few more events and earn their Summertime Activity Adventures. Our first Pack Meeting is Wednesday, September 2nd, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the Imlay Elementary Cafeteria.
See you on the trail,

Wildland Fire Fighter Appreciation Service Project

Location: Noble Woods South entrance
Date: Tuesday Aug 4th
Time: 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Many scouts have already seen the blow back of these fires raging through our state with the closure of Baldwin before summer camp, but not many have had the opportunity to thank the brave individuals who help keep us safe from the devastation. I know this is a last minute event, but to show our support to the wildland firefighters we are putting together thank you cards, posters, and care packages that we can deliver to hopefully raise morale and spirits.

Nature Craft

Location: Orenco Woods Park
Date: Wednesday Aug 12th
Time: 6:00pm – 7:00pm

This is a great event to support the growth of new scouts to our unit as well as get our current scouts back into the swing of things. Please have all scouts wear their uniforms for maximum visibility if possible. Last year we made pinecone bird feeders, what could we possibly top that with this year, join us and find out.

LaCamas Lake Hike

Location: LaCamas Lake (Round Lake Parking Lot)
Date: Wednesday Aug 15th
Time: 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Sure this one may not be in Oregon but I’ll give it a pass on this trip. LaCamas Lake is very large, we will be hiking around Round lake and LaCamas Creek specifically. The lake features a very easy and accessible hike that can be tailored as an out and back trip for any age and distance. Potholes Falls is a short hike from the entrance and definitely worth seeing while lower falls takes us on a journey to the center point of a 5 mile loop. The lake itself opens up the possibility to fish and swim (Designated areas will be marked for appropriate swimming capabilities.)

Parking at the hike entrance is limited, please consider parking at the far lot and walking in.

Summer BBQ

Location: Rood Bridge Park Shelter C
Date: Sunday, August 23rd
Time: 4:00pm – 7:00pm

Similar to previous years we will be hosting a BBQ Pot luck. The pack will be providing Hamburgers, hot dogs, buns and condiments but we need more to make a successful BBQ. Please use the sign up sheet below to add what you would like to bring.
