Cub Scouts is a family program – families strengthen Cub Scouts, and in turn, Cub Scouts strengthens families. Cub Scouts was designed to help families bond and grow in order to prepare their child for the future.
Volunteer Expectations
Pack 195 thrives because of parents like you. To keep our program high-quality and affordable, we ask each family to contribute 10 hours of service per scouting year.
Throughout the year, several opportunities will be available that cater to your interests. Below are some examples.
Leadership & Coordination:
- Nova Club: Help lead our Scouting STEM program (Science, Tech, Engineering, Math).
- Hiking Coordinator: Scout out a local trail and lead a single monthly Pack hike.
- New Member Coordinator: Help welcome new families and guide them through the application process.
Event & Activity Support:
- Pinewood Derby: Assist with track setup, car weigh-ins, timing, or running the concession stand.
- Den Meeting Assistant: Help a Den Leader with a specific craft, game, or “Adventure” requirement.
- Service Project Lead: Coordinate a one-time community event, like a food drive or park cleanup.
This can range from helping organize service projects or events, planning food and activities for parties, or assisting leaders with den-specific needs.
Meeting Expectations
Pack Meetings
Once a month, the whole family gathers for singing, activities, and awards. Siblings are always welcome! Pack Meetings are the main source for announcements and vital information, so make sure you don’t miss out!
Den Meetings
Small, grade-level groups. Parents of Lions & Tigers (K-1st) are required partners; older Scout parents (Wolf to Arrow of Light) stay and be highly engaged to continue to support their scouts.
