Another Scouting Year in the Books!
Summer is almost here and this Scouting year is coming to an end.  We had SO many fun adventures. It’s been wonderful to finally have a full scouting year with all the usual events (and more) like before the pandemic. From the bottom of my heart as Cubmaster,  thank you to every family for showing up and making this year amazing. We do this all for your amazing kids—and we couldn’t do it without you.  Here’s to another year!
Important Info
Advancements Deadlines

There is NO Pack meeting this month. Instead we have Rank-Up this Saturday!  See below for details. Scouts will be moved on to their next rank and start a new scouting year!
This means your scout needs to complete all the adventures/awards for their current rank by this Wednesday the 5th if you want to receive them at rank-up. For example, say your scout is Tiger. The have until the 6/5 to finish their last requirement to earn rank and have it awarded at Rank-Up on Saturday.
However, your scout officially has until June 30th to complete any advancement/awards for their current rank. The next day they will be automatically move up to the next rank regardless if they made the current one or not. And advancements may not be added retroactively. Using the same example, say your Tiger scout doesn’t finish that last requirement by this Wednesday. That’s okay, still come to rank-up! Your scout has has until 6/30 finish the requirement at home and earn rank. Just notify your den leader when complete so they can record it before the deadline.  If they don’t finish it by the deadline, that’s okay too!  July 1st they are automatically a Wolf. They just didn’t get the Tiger patch, and move on to fun Wolf adventures.
Rank-up Info

What happens during rank-up? There will be three parts, first will will do a mini pack meeting to hand out any awards or rank. That we do the official crossing the bridge ceremony.  Then we will switch gears to the potluck BBQ lunch. Scouts can also play at the park during this time as well.
All families, friends, and guests welcome. Please RSVP at the link below and sign-up to bring a dish.
Part of the rank-up ceremony is switching out the current rank emblems for the new ones. This includes scout hats, neckerchiefs, slides, and books. We HIGHLY suggest ordering/checking the uniform library for them NOW. Supplies start selling out/go fast this time of year.
What happens if your family/scout can’t attend? That’s okay, we will miss you though! Your den leader will get your awards/certificates to you over the Summer.

Program Changes for Next Year
As mentioned in two previous emails, there are several aspects of the Cub Scout program that have been updated.  A few weeks ago, the new scout rank books were released.  Cubmaster Sam ordered a copy of each to review and give to the den leaders to start planning the awesome new adventures.  Look forward to more streamline requirements and awesome new electives (like fishing, STEM, cycling, and swimming). Check the BSA website for more details, and check in within your den leaders for more details.  Please note, the books from previous years are now totally obsolete. You will need new ones for the new  scouting year.
